Nicely said, Jen! I love the NACC, and when it is financially doable our family makes it the focus of our summer activities. I agree that we need a "connecting place" among our brotherhood. I do not attend the convention to be taught or have my leadership skills sharpened. I attend so I can reconnect with friends and enjoy a few days of family-friendly worship and fellowship in Christ Jesus. <br/>Every year we hear that the convention is in financial distress. When my family faces a financial crisis, we change how and where we spend our money. If the purpose of the NACC is to bring people together, does it matter if the speakers have name-recognition? Every year we receive promotional material that focuses on "Name" speakers and musicians. Perhaps I am wrong, but I would guess they are not there gratis. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of quality preachers and musicians who would gladly attend and serve at the convention if their out-of-pocket expenses were met. We need the NACC, but I think the way the convention is planned and promoted needs to be re-considered.

Spot on, Jen! I am glad you are seeking to be a part of the solution by being on the "continuation committee." We can also wonder, where have all the "family reunions" gone? There is a need to challenge people to be a part of "connection." We even build environments in our churches for "connection." Now, the NACC team needs to "connect" with the local churches in the area of the convention to remind them this is an environment of "connection." We have talked about next year's convention having more "mentoring opportunities" that are not just staff or volunteer leader oriented. <br/>More discussion, then decisions need to be made. Perhaps one thought we need to develop is to turn from "What's in it for me?" to "What's in it for us?"<br/>Hmm,
